extremely cheap quality
This product is of very low quality. The outer layer of the kettle, so called “cool touch,” is made of cheap plastic that wears out within a few days of use. The internal material and overall finish are subpar. I wouldn’t recommend it—it’s better to buy from offline stores where you can personally verify the product’s quality and performance. I’ve used other Amazon Basics products before, but this one falls well below expectations.

Best kettle,no repair, no maintenance
Bought Prestige kettle, it broke down 5-6 times in a year, and then gave up . Amazon basics is wonderful works tirelessly. Steel body is no nonsense easy to clean. On off bottom button is better than spring button on top of handle like most others

Spout not good for fast pouring. Can lead to spillage of dangerous hot water.
It heats water but leaves a lot to be desired. This is a very economical (cheap) product. It’s very lightweight, so I don’t expect much quality but the major flaw is the spout. The first time I heated the water, I tried pouring it out and hot water spilled all around as the flow out of the spout is too slow. Luckily I didn’t burn myself. Once I figured that out, I pour out slowly now. It’s a little annoying.The performance is also very average. Takes much longer to heat than what I would expect. It also gets quite loud when heating.
