It came broken. We mended it but it was not as useful. Using a newspaper was lesser messy. You have to wash it after every use.

Even without reading the instructions, putting the scooper together was easy and fast. This is NOT a folding scooper! Once assembled, it is more solid than a folding scoop. You can see my old one (green handle) next to the new one with the blue handle. I also liked that it was longer and easier to use than the old one. Some reviews cited weak points in the plastic, but it does not seem to be weak at all. The reason I had to buy this one is one of the springs broke on my old one, which means the spring is the weak point, not the plastic!My two greyhounds are 73 and 83 pounds, so a large scoop was important to us. This scoop works well on sand, grass, and concrete surfaces. The teeth allow any sand or dirt to shake out, which means less weight is being thrown into the poop bucket. If you have a big dog, you need a big scoop!
